Quilting Charges

Charges for quilting are based on square inches of your top. Multiply the width x the length to get the number of square inches. For an example, let's figure your top is 72" x 90" which is 6,480 square inches.

Remember that you will always know up front exactly what your charges will be before I begin quilting your top.

Once I see your top, I will be able to give you an exact price before I begin quilting. Likewise, it is sometimes difficult to compare charges from one longarmer to another because what one quilter considers dense quilting, another may not consider dense quilting at all. If desired, I will send you pictures of work representative of my quilting plan for your quilt.

Overall Meander is the least expensive type quilting. This can include the typical puzzle piece looking meander, or hearts or stars or leaves. The price per square inch depends on the density of the quilting. The most basic overall meander begins at .014¢ per square inch and can go as high as .02¢. For the 72" x 90" quilt, the quilting charges would be $90.72 to $129.40.

Pantographs are also charged differently depending on the density of the design. All of the pantos that I use are "interlocking" designs. Pantograph prices begin at .02¢ per square inch and can go as high as .03¢ per square inch. For the 72" x 90" quilt, the price would be $129.60 to $194.40.

Custom quilting varies greatly from quilter to quilter. Please ask for photos if you are not sure exactly what type quilting you may be getting. My custom quilting always includes stitch in the ditch, with lots of quilting! Prices start at .028¢ and go up ast high as .04¢ per square inch. For the 72" x 90" quilt, the quilting charges for custom quilting would be $181.44 to $259.20.

Heirloom quilting is extreme quilting and will be discussed with the individual quilter who is requesting this type quilting.
